TA DA!!

The judge was brought in to select the winner of the Spring Giveaway Tote bag of the Grandest Kind Contest...
As before, the eligible entrants were placed in her toy basket to stimulate interest.
But then, something went terribly awry.
It appeared that Miss Dixie was searching throughout the slips of paper to find her former owner, Mama Krystal, to tip the winnings in her favor.
Well, as soon as I saw what the corrupt little Jack Russell was up to, she was immediately disbarred from the contest.
We shall not have corruption and payola fouling our most venerable and honest of contests.
But at this late date, where or where will we find another Pure in Motive Drawing Overseer?
Aha! New Dog on the Block! Scout is too young to be corrupted with the exception of maybe a treat or two randomly sprinkled throughout his toy basket. Scout faithfully set to the task of selecting the completely non influenced slip of paper at random.
After grabbing his treat, er, entry, he clearly spit out the blank sheet of paper that represented:
Miss Autumn!!!
Yes, her votes had to be blank due to the sheer volume of entries on her most valiant effort to win.
Perseverance does indeed pay off, Miss Autumn!
Congratulations on winner of the Second Annual Bag Giveaway Contest of the Grandest Kind!
Your bag will be delivered to you on Thursday.
If Scout says it's okay.

But look at that face.
Certainly he will agree.....

Happy May Day to all my fun participants and most loyal readers!!!!!

**Attention***
A crazy wrinkle has developed in the ongoing mystery of the Spring Giveaway Tote bag Contest!!! Corrupt Judge, Miss Dixie, has indeed pointed out that another tried and true participant in the contest, that also had a whopping amount of entries, will be in need of a Diaper Bag come this fall..... Could a Diaper Bag Contest be in the offing soon???? Hmmmmmmmm.....The Administrator and I shall have to converse about this and if all is copacetic with Miss Dixie, perhaps this shall be pursued........Thoughts???

And On It Goes....

Ho Hum.
I believe it there was a text box over Miss Dixie, that is exactly what it would say.
No Walkies.
No sniffing her little world in our little town.
Good to be curled up next to Boss, but her little heart pines for the adventures of her twice daily walks.
And boy, do I agree.
Dixie and I are accountability partners. I give her the experiences of roaming around whilst tethered to her responsible owner and she makes me get up and out there every morning. We can easily cover 3 miles on a temperate day in the other three seasons.
However.
In this inclement, we are bound to the areas shoveled and salted lest one of us takes a tumble that would render us helpless to each other.
And I have found that not many people take shoveling seriously these days. Today, we forged a path out amongst the populace only to find the street our only option. The downtown shopkeepers obediently have cleared a way to their closed shops, but alas, for the most part, homeowners are staying near their hearth.
In defense, what other walkers are out there in weather like this? Dixie and I are kinda lone wolfs these days in the walking world.
But a walk we had, and it was a nice, albeit messy.
Coming in, shedding my layers, wiping off mucky paws, and heading upstairs to the happy, joyful land of creating...
Summer blankies, three so far...

And a nice little stash developing..
Good way to banish the winter blahs..
Surround yourself with a promise of brighter days by drinking in the colors of really fun fabric..

Go ahead. Make something cheerful today.....

Hint O' Winter

Dixie had quite the adjustment this morning.
She wasn't quite prepared for the change in her landscape.
But we both got our bearings and pursued on to a really nice long walk in the white stuff.
Amazing how a modicum of snow can change the most familiar environment.
While Dixie checked out her 'new' sniffs, I photographed some normal turned magical.

In true Southern Indiana tradition, by the time we returned from our hour walk, most of the snow had melted off.
An amazing benefit of living in southern Indiana; could be a heavy snowfall but in three days, it should be gone! Gotta love that!

So I removed my wet shoes and changed my dampish pants into a serious sewing uniform and headed for the sewing room....

More to follow......

AND THE WINNER IS!!!!

!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
The winner of the First Ever mama's collection Giveaway Bag is my new friend
and commenter, Ashley!

As you can see, Hubby's Hand pulled the name out of Dixie's toy basket. (Hubby was quite ready for bed thus the bedside drawing:D) Dixie
was not real sure why her toys went missing for a time and being the overseer that she is, made sure the drawing was on the up and up.
(kinda like that accounting firm for the Oscars but not....)
Anyway!
Congratulations Ashley!
Let me know how to contact you so I can get this mailed off quickly!

Ah.....What a nice week......!

What Would You Do?

The Autumn has been gorgeous. The trees are just starting to turn, promising a golden show.
When the rain stops.
Can't complain too much. Just every other day, we've had 'The Rain'.
So what would you do?

First, get yourself a nice mug of soup to ward off the chill in the non heated house. (new furnace comes next week and trying to stall off using the old one...)

Then, make yourself a roaring fire to do your administrative work the Admin Girl gave you to do for homework. A nice, long conversation with Eldest is another good way to help perk up The Rainy Day. Listening to Miss Vivien in the background, imitiating mama on the phone, is quite the mood lifter.
Make sure you get all the info the Admin Girl needs to do data entry for your business. And be smug and warm in front of the lovely fire. With Companion Dixie by my side....

Pretty good option to a cold rainy October Day, huh?
