Just In Case You're Having a Bad Day Today.....

.....I would really defy you to stay in a bad mood after viewing this most amazing photo....
What you have here is a picture of my newest, precious grand girl and her most amazing daddy...What you see is the result of their wifey/mama staring at them with her most efficient of cameras, documenting the incredible love and admiration that they have for one another.  My heart soars and my lips smile the most content of smiles when viewing this wonder.  This little girl is the object of much love and protection from her most adept of daddies.  How can it be that both of my sons in laws are the Wonderful Men ever for my most cherished daughters?

Today we celebrate this Lil Lady's Daddy's 24th Birthday....
How grateful am I for his most loving, caring, cheerful, joyful self to be not only added to this world, but specifically, into our family, where he brings much entertainment and contemplation in one complete package.

Thank you Lord for this special man.....
Happy Birthday, Landon....

Who? Who?

My little, albeit, transitory, friend, Owlie, keeps asking me this question...
Who? Who?? Who will she be??

Well, Owlie, we know that she likes pretty little vintage prints from Mrs. Hill's Auction....With some rick rack to make it really special..(this rick rack had an original price tag of 10 cents for 3 yards!) We know she appreciates fine things..Simple, but good....

And her, ahem, undergarments, are discreetly made from an old pillowcase from ages ago. But she doesn't mind; they're soft as a feather, yet modest with the ever so indication of fru fru....Sweet...

And we know that she is abundantly fun to be with, even into the wee hours of the evening...Fun, sweet little girl....

Miss Dixie cannot understand! Something so full of stuffing, surely must be for her!!No, no Miss Dixie!! This little dolly goes to a Special Little Girl!

So Miss Dixie resigns her lot and curls up in her Work Room Bed, content to be nearby even if she can't tear the holy crap out of this current obsession.....

Who Owlie?
We don't know, but we soon will!!!!

More November Birthdays!

One of my Fleur de Lis friends turns 90 years old on the 25th.
She is amazing.
She is currently crocheting an afghan for each of her grandchildren. (great grandchildren?)
She is poet; not only writing her own, but memorizing and reciting them word for word.
And other poetry as well.
She has a rapier wit; sharp as a tack.
I wanna be like her when I'm 90.
(notice I said when, not if....:D)
So Fleur de lis' monthly hostess took us to the local Mexican restaurant for a bit of a change.
Twelve ladies of age, including the three nonagenarians that grace our group.
Our chuckle to each other and the staff, was that we came there for the good margaritas. Too funny.
When one of the waiters asked one of our ninety year old treasures, how she has lived this long, she put up her hands in the air and simulated a little hoochie koochie dance! Hyssssterical!!!
I secretively notified the waiter that we had a Birthday Girl in our midst, knowing that a rousing Spanish version of Happy birthday, loud noisemakers and a HUGE sombrero awaited the celebrant. Did I mention that it also included a bit of a slap of whipped cream off the dessert tortilla, onto the unsuspecting Birthday Girl's face?? (gotta admit; I was a bit nervous about that part.)
So, when we were all finished with our fajitas, burritos, tacos, chimichangas, the rascally waiters approached our Young at Heart Birthday Girl with great gusto.
It was video worthy...
BG enjoyed it thoroughly. She kept the sombrero on for quite awhile then proclaimed it hers and said, 'well, they gave it to me; I'm keepin it!!'
We all watched as she paid her bill, with the hat on, and confidently, with her cane(she's had three hip replacements) marched out the door...
She did it!
What were they going to do? Tackle her??
She knew that they would not bother her.
She is ninety and spunky.
Too funny.
Gotta love being ninety.....

Celebrating Con't

The picture below is the end result of a Birthday Lunch with Crazy Dee.
We shared a Chocolate Mousse Cake.
It was pretty darn good.
As was the rest of the lunch at the Chandler Tea Room AND the glorious pedicure at RedNails.
Bliss.
Good company, good food, grand tootsie treatment.
Ahhhh.
Then Faithful Friend takes up the banner call of Con't Celebration by taking me off to Christy's on the Square, to have an amazing repast.
We spent a lot of time oohing and ahhing over our deelishious dishes.
And pleasant conversation and mutual encouragement.
We came home to dive into the 2G's Papa's Gorgeous Birthday Cake.
And talked till way late...
This birthday thing is like a mini vacation of the most decadent kind.
And I appreciate every minute of it...
Indulge a friend today....

(Speaking of indulging....With all this birthday giving and receiving, I believe you shall be interested in a 'Very Giving Plan' that Eldest/Admin daughter has hatched in that amazing brain of hers...
It involves RECEIVING and GIVING...
Aren't you really interested?
Stay tuned...
And have a cup of good, hot, chai tea on me..)

(PS of the best kind....While writing this, Second Son came into our home from his little cottage to do some Facebook checking...Without saying a word about sharing the computer, he proceeded to start to rub my very sore shoulders and share his day with me. Then, without saying a word about needing to be on the computer and finally completing the task of disintegrating my crunchy muscle knots from painting, he quietly bid good night and went back to his home....Some Birthday gifts you just can't price....Thank you Buddy.....:D)

Happy Birthday to Me!!

God provided a glorious fall day.
He provided a network of family and friends who manage to make me feel like everyday is my birthday.
From the gentle pat on my bottom with an early morning Happy Birthday from hubby while making his breakfast to the wonderful nightly back rub from same, that is guaranteed to make me feel special and relaxed, the day was golden.
Thank you for your well wishes.
A bible study with the 2G's and their mama in Bloomington, started off the day.
When I got to their car, there was Grant, all prepared in song and dress, for the Birthday Girl's arrival!
Wonderful.

Bible Study completed and lunch time near, mama and the 2G's escorted me to a near campus, eclectic little cafe, frozen in the 70's yet contemporary in it's retro-ness.
Great old hippy place for a former hippy wannabe.
Fun.
Phone calls, voice mails, texts dot the time....

Remember me telling you about the 2G's papa being a Cakemaker Extraordinaire?
Well, see if you don't agree.
Gorgeous cake, eh?
And cards.
Lovely wishes and memorable greetings.
And, of course, the wonderful, wonderful Shutterfly photo shoot of my beloved Vivers...

And the sign says it all.
Came home to see that Crazy Dee had planted her sign in my yard for the month of November.
Tomorrow, the celebration continues...and on and on..
For tonight, Hubby shall take me out to eat. Being a foodie, I look forward to a meal out. 20 years of agoraphobia has shown me the glories of eating a meal out, and appreciating the process and the social event that sharing a meal is.

Lest you think that I am the most egocentric woman alive, let me assure you that a more grounded person you shall not find.
I simply find it amazing that God has created me for a special purpose and if only that is to show others how we should rejoice in the creation He has made in us, then so be it.
Celebrate life. All life. Your life. All the time.
